About Us

Family owned and operated since 1987

the Mortgage Outlet

In 1987 The Mortgage Outlet was created to provide borrowers a place to be educated about the mortgage process instead of being sold an interest rate or an online phone application for a rapid approval.

Why would you contact us about your next mortgage application? First, we answer the phone when you call during regular business hours, in the evenings and on the weekends, as your question should be answered immediately. Secondly, our costs are transparent, you know everything upfront which leads to accurate interest rates and closing costs. Thirdly you file has one dedicated loan officer who sole responsibility is to make you mortgage process as smooth as possible from the beginning to the end. Lastly but not the least is that we have over 30 years of experience, thousands of satisfied clients and being a loan officer is more than a job it’s a way of life. The Mortgage Outlet is a Family owned and operated wholesale mortgage broker located in Sayville, New York at the same location since 1987.  Out staff consists of the Owner David Bailey, NMLS #3458 and his daughter Erika Bailey NMLS #217190.

As a small family run business, we have been able to combine the best of the Internet and Technology and Personal Contact with our Human Mortgage Process.  This process gives you the ability to speak one to one with a Licensed Loan Originator who will help prepare your file to be uploaded to one of the many lenders we use to fund your loan.

Once we have your file uploaded our technology takes over enabling us to clear you loan in as little as 25 days should you qualify for this program.   Unlike many lenders in today’s market mortgage brokers are your only advocate that work for your best interests

After graduating from Norwich Military University in 1983, I began working as an apprentice appraiser and licensed real estate agent in my family owned and operated business. Working in the family business allowed me to learn the appraisal and real estate businesses from the inside out and gave me the opportunity to take them over in 1987.

After becoming a NYS Licensed Real Estate Broker, I received my certification as a licensed NYS Certified General Appraiser, NYS Certified Residential Appraiser, and NYS Certified Residential Instructor. In 1988, while continuing to work as an appraiser, I became a Registered Mortgage Broker. I felt there was a lack of true professionalism in the mortgage industry that people could turn to for honest advice, so I decided to create my own company, The Mortgage Outlet. A true professional looks at each client’s situation individually, matching the needs of the borrower with the right lender. I had a vision that by educating my clients and providing them with superior service, I would be able to create loyal clients for life.

Having an appraisal and real estate background also gave me a better understating of the complexities involved in each mortgage transaction. My philosophy, “creating loyal clients for life” is the best form of advertising” has allowed me to spend more than 23 years working successfully in the mortgage industry.

The Mortgage Outlet offers our clients the same loan programs that larger lenders offer. The difference is we provide the best personalized service that is unmatched in today’s mortgage industry. Throughout your transaction you will have direct contact with me, David Bailey, from the time of application until closing. As a small company, every single transition is important to us and receives the same high quality professionalism superior customer service that our clients deserve. I underwrite and oversee every file and your file is never handed off to someone else. This is what separates The Mortgage Outlet from other lenders. Whether you are a Buyer, Seller, or Real Estate Professional, choosing the Mortgage Outlet as your advocate brings you one step closer to closing your deal.

Growing up on Long Island, I was immersed in the family mortgage business from an early age, whether it was helping stamp flyers at the office, shredding old files where I often stopped to look at past appraisal photos or learning about the mortgage process over dinner. Through this a passion grew for real estate and the home buying process that ultimately led me back to the family business – to learn, to grow, and to help others. Numbers have always been my thing, since I graduated

Dowling College with a Finance degree, and the mortgage business combines my love of calculations and helping others. I have learned from the best; a man that is dedicated to his clients and helping them achieve their home ownership goals. I have witnessed the hard work involved to grow and cultivate a thriving business centered around doing what Is best for the client. Creating clients for life, is the motto I grew up with and one that will continue for generations.
